Why weight matters
Tank weight drives almost every line item in an install quote. A 61 kg poly tank can be delivered on a tradesman's ute, carried by hand to the excavation, and lowered with straps. A 1,500 kg concrete tank needs a truck mounted crane (HIAB) to deliver, a clear approach for that truck, and machinery on site to place it.

Backfill, water-loading and flotation
A light empty tank can theoretically float in waterlogged ground if installed incorrectly. Licensed plumbers prevent this by water-loading the tank during backfill or by using anti-flotation collars in high water-table sites. The light empty weight is a benefit at delivery and a non-issue at install when standard methodology is followed.
Ground load when full
A full 1500L tank exerts roughly 1.5 tonnes downward; a full 2500L tank around 2.6 tonnes. That load is distributed over the tank footprint (~2.25 m² for 1500L, ~3.3 m² for 2500L) — well within the bearing capacity of any sand-bedded native soil. No engineering certification is needed for a standard residential installation.

Can two people carry a poly septic tank?
Yes. At 61 kg, the 1500L tank can be carried by two adults across level ground. The 2500L tank at 110 kg is normally moved with three people, a trolley, or an excavator bucket.
Do I need a crane to deliver a poly septic tank?
No. Our poly tanks deliver on a standard ute, van or small flat-bed. Concrete tanks at the same capacity require a HIAB truck or crane and meaningful site access — that's the main reason concrete installs cost so much more.
