Acreage households are usually the same size as urban households — sizing follows occupancy, not block area. The block size matters for the absorption trench: more land means more freedom in trench layout, more separation from dams/creeks/bores, and easier compliance with council setback rules.

Drainage and soil considerations
Acreage soil types vary widely — sandy loam, heavy clay, rocky ground. Your plumber will do a percolation test ("perc test") to size the absorption trench. Heavy clay needs a longer trench; well-drained sandy soil needs less. The tank stays the same — only the trench changes.
